Early Career Excellence Award to Jessica Viant

Speech Pathology Australia extends our congratulations to member Jessica Viant for winning the Early Career Excellence category of the Northern Territory Allied Health Excellence Awards, held for the first time in 2023.

The awards aim to commend the remarkable performance of allied health professionals and allied health assistants/technicians across the Territory.

It recognises individuals who not only demonstrate excellence in their field but also contribute significantly to the health and welfare of the people in the Northern Territory.

Jessica's win in the Early Career Excellence category highlights her exceptional performance, the high regard in which she is held by colleagues and clients. In receiving the award, Jessica said, "It was such an honor to win the award and completely unexpected. I have had the privilege of working in the NT since graduating, working with children and their families when they are first starting their therapy journey."

"The award recognises the hard work not just by me, but also for what all the speechies do here in the early years space in the NT."

"My particular love is supporting the implementation of paper based and electronic AAC devices and parent capacity building through self-determination. I hope to continue to provide excellent service here to families even in the most hard-to-reach places, with a particular interest in feeding and AAC.

"Each day I have the privilege to see little moments of progress by working to children's strengths and building their skills through their own interests to help them reach their full potential."
