The Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech-Language Pathology (JCPSLP) (previously published as ACQuiring Knowledge in Speech, Language and Hearing (ACQ)) is a major publication of the Association and provides a professional forum for members of the Association.

ACQ changes its name to the Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech-Language Pathology (JCPSLP) We are thrilled to announce the new name of our journal: Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech-Language Pathology (JCPSLP)! During the last National Conference members were asked to complete a questionnaire about the format and content of ACQuiring Knowledge in Speech, Language and Hearing (ACQ) and one of the questions referred to the name of the journal. Almost half the members surveyed indicated that the name ACQ did not effectively reflect the essence or the content of the journal. When asked about the acronym ACQ, most members responded “Australian Communication Quarterly”. This name has not been used for more than a decade. In fact, it was changed to ACQuiring Knowledge in Speech, Language and Hearing in 1999 when the distribution of the publication changed from quarterly to three times per year. Thirteen years later the time has come for a new name to clearly convey to speech-pathologists and related professionals from around the world that it is a journal with clinical relevance. Thus the Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech-Language Pathology (JCPSLP) is born. Each issue of the journal will continue to be based around a theme with short and clinically relevant peer reviewed papers in addition to our popular regular columns. We invite our readers to keep submitting papers to the JCPSLP and welcome feedback on the content or layout at all times. The first issue will be distributed to members in March 2012.
