Speech Pathology Australia (the Association) is a membership organisation that draws its strength from its members. As the national peak body for the speech pathology profession in Australia, the Association has several categories of membership.
The Association provides support for speech pathology students and recent graduates in the early stages of their career. This and related pages contain resources specifically for speech pathology students. Join as a student member (online form). 
Free* membership for students in their first year of study
The Association offers all first year speech pathology students (those who have not previously been a member of Speech Pathology Australia) free* membership in their first year of study.
Free membership is open to any speech pathology student undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate speech pathology course for the very first time. The member benefits are numerous.
Student member
First year speech pathology students can join Speech Pathology Australia for free! 
Students enrolled in a speech pathology course recognised by Speech Pathology Australia are eligible for this category of membership. Students in their first year of study are offered complimentary membership but must provide letter of offer as evidence to support this.
New student membership applications will be not be eligible for the Certified Practising discount if received after 31 October in the year they are completing their course. Please refer to the Certified Practising member (new graduate) application form. (If you are about to graduate and require Certified Practising membership to apply for a Medicare number please use the New Graduate application form.)

What Evidence of Course Completion is Acceptable? 
* Free membership is available to all Australian speech pathology students who are in their first year of an undergraduate or Masters degree and have not previously been a member of Speech Pathology Australia.
