Speech Pathology Australia (the Association) recognises the importance of practice education for speech pathology students who need to enter the profession with the appropriate skills and training.
Practice education is now occurring in an environment of more university programs and expanding student cohorts which is consequently increasing the demand for placements.
In 2017, Speech Pathology Australia commissioned a national report to provide an overview of current speech pathology clinical education in Australia.

Supporting Clinical Education and Placements during the COVID-19 Pandemic
The Association released Supporting Clinical Education and Speech Pathology Placements during the COVID-19 pandemic as a resource for speech pathology placement providers, practice educators universities and students. It provides information on a range of facilitators and considerations to support the continuance of quality practice education in line with federal and state government guidelines and workplace directives provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
