Below are the Terms and Conditions relating to registration for all Speech Pathology Australia resources and events, including those on the Learning Hub.

By proceeding with registration, you agree to the following Speech Pathology Australia Terms and Conditions.

Live online events

 

Payment, registration, and confirmation

  • All payments are displayed and processed in Australian Dollars (AUD).
  • Speech Pathology Australia members must login to the Learning Hub using their Speech Pathology Australia account Failure to do so will result in the individual being charged non-member rate.
  • Individuals who are not members of Speech Pathology Australia and/or have not previously held an account, are required to create an account to proceed with registration.
  • Registering on someone else’s behalf is not permitted. If this occurs the individuals will have their registration refunded as outlined in the 'Cancellation, transfer of registration and non-attendance’ section below.
  • Registration requires online payment with Mastercard, Visa or American Express at the time of registration. Speech Pathology Australia is unable to provide invoices prior to payment.
  • Registration is confirmed upon receiving an email notification from Speech Pathology Australia. If you don't receive an immediate automated confirmation email, please contact  Professional Education or Branch events team on 1300 368 835 or via email.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to reserve places for online events.
  • Individuals not registered for a online event will not be accommodated if they attend the event.
  • Individuals are responsible for ensuring that their registration is confirmed before making arrangements to attend. Speech Pathology Australia bears no responsibility for any costs incurred or loss of income.

    

Cancellation, transfer of registration and attendance

  • Individuals who cancel their registration for an event prior to distribution of resources will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee.
  • Individuals who cancel their registration for an event once resources have been distributed are not eligible for any refund.
  • No refund will be issued for non-attendance.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to accept transfers of registration.
  • Registrants who are unable to attend a session of the online event must contact Professional Education as soon as possible, prior to the commencement of the event.
  • A certificate of attendance can only be generated if the individual attended all sessions in their entirety.

   

 Closing date and waitlist

  • Registration will close as specified in the course outline or prior if the event is ‘sold out’.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is not able to maintain a waitlist for 'sold out' events.
  • Should additional space/s for an event become available due to cancellation, the event will be re-opened. Vacant spaces will be secured by the first completed registration/s.

 

Recording and distribution of materials

  • Registrants are not permitted to record or reproduce content in any format.
  • Speech Pathology Australia’s representatives may record or photograph events for use by the Association. Registrants need to advise a Speech Pathology Australia representative if they wish to remain anonymous.
  • Professional Education online events may be recorded. Recordings will only be available to registrants for a limited time as detailed in the learning community.
  • Except with the Association's prior written approval, resources must not, in whole or part, be reproduced, modified, adapted, distributed, published, or electronically communicated in any format.

On Demand courses

Cancellation and transfer of registration

  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to accept transfers of registration.
  • Purchases of On Demand courses are final and refunds will not be issued.
  • A certificate of attendance will be automatically generated on confirmation of completion.

  • Except with the Association's prior written approval, resources must not, in whole or part, be reproduced, modified, adapted, distributed, published or electronically communicated in any format.

In person events

  • Registration is only confirmed on receipt of email notification from Speech Pathology Australia. If an immediate automated email confirmation is not received, please contact Professional Education or Branch events team on 1300 368 835 or via email  Professional Education or Branch events.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to reserve places for online events.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to reserve places for in person events.
  • Individuals not registered for a in person event will not be accommodated if they attend the event.
  • Individuals are responsible for ensuring that their registration is confirmed before making arrangements to attend. Speech Pathology Australia bears no responsibility for any costs incurred (such as flights, accommodation, travel expenses) or loss of income.

Cancellation, transfer of registration and attendance

  • Registrants who withdraw from an in person event:
    • 28 days or more prior to the commencement of the event will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee.
    • 8-27 days prior to the commencement of the event will be refunded 50% of the registration fee.
    • 0-7 days prior to the commencement and/or once event resources have been distributed will receive no refund.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to accept transfers of registration.
  • Registrants who are unable to attend an in person event must contact a member of Professional Education or Branch event team as early as possible prior to the commencement of the event and request cancellation of their registration.
  • A certificate of attendance can only be generated if the individual attended the event in its entirety.

Venue information and requirements; Accessibility and dietary requirements

  • Individuals must notify Speech Pathology Australia to advise of accessibility requirements at least 7 working days prior to event. This information will be forwarded to third parties/venues as required.
  • Speech Pathology Australia must be notified of dietary requirements at least 7 working days prior to event commencement. This information will be forwarded to third parties/venues as required.
    • While all care is taken in relation to food allergies and intolerances, Speech Pathology Australia cannot guarantee completely allergy free meals, nor be held responsible for any adverse reaction.
    • If a requirement cannot be catered for, the individual will be advised and/or have the option to self-cater.
    • The individual is to make themselves known to the Professional Education representative and/or venue staff upon arrival at the venue.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is not able to guarantee the availability of access to free Wi-Fi at events.

Traveller’s rates

  • Traveller's rates are only applicable for Professional Education events.
  • Traveller’s rates are available only for non-metropolitan members whose place of work and/or home address listed on their Speech Pathology Australia membership record is more than 150km from their nearest capital city.
  • Members in the ACT, Northern Territory or Tasmania travelling to an event not on offer in their own state/territory are eligible.
  • This rate does not apply to metropolitan members travelling intrastate or interstate to attend an event.
  • Individuals must contact Professional Education to access the traveller's rate discount prior to registering for an event, as the discount cannot be applied retrospectively.
  • Ineligible members will be contacted and have the option to pay the difference or receive a refund as outlined in the ‘Cancellation, transfer of registration and attendance’ section.
  • Student members are not eligible for traveller's rates.

  • Speech Pathology Australia’s representatives may record or photograph events for use by the Association. Registrants must identify themselves to a Speech Pathology Australia representative if you wish to remain anonymous.

National conference

Payment, registration, and confirmation

  • Registration is only confirmed on receipt of email notification from Speech Pathology Australia. If an immediate automated email confirmation is not received, please contact Conference & Events on 1300 368 835 or email.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to reserve places for conferences.
  • Individuals not registered for the conference will not be accommodated if they attend the conference.
  • Individuals are responsible for ensuring that their registration is confirmed before making arrangements to attend. Speech Pathology Australia bears no responsibility for any costs incurred (such as flights, accommodation, travel expenses) or loss of income.

Cancellation, transfer of registration and attendance

  • Registrants who withdraw from the conference:
    • 31 days or more prior to the commencement of the conference will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee.
    • 0-30 days prior to the commencement will receive no refund.
  • Requests for cancellation due to exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Speech Pathology Australia is unable to accept transfers of registration.
  • Registrants who are unable to attend must contact a member of Conference & Events as early as possible prior to the commencement of the conference and request cancellation of their registration.
  • A certificate of attendance can only be generated if the individual attended the conference in its entirety.

COVID health and safety

  • The conference will be fully COVID-safe and compliant with government health requirements and will do what Speech Pathology Australia deems reasonable to protect the health and safety of all registrants. It is in everyone’s interest to ensure anyone who feels unwell stays away from the conference. Failure to comply with these measures may result in removal from the venue.
  • If the conference is cancelled or must be moved due to COVID issues, Speech Pathology Australia will offer registrants a full refund.

Content

  • The conference's program and content are up to date at the time of publication, but Speech Pathology Australia reserves the right to make any necessary changes.
  • While the organisation will make every effort to provide a comparable standard of program and content, it accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies or misunderstandings. The information presented at the conference has been sourced from trustworthy and dependable sources. Registrants are encouraged to use their own discretion when evaluating the relevance and applicability of the information shared at the conference.

Privacy statement

Your information will be used to process your payment and registration, send information and other purposes. This includes but is not limited to confirmation of your membership status with affiliated Associations. Your information will be forwarded to service providers (presenters, venues, catering companies) if required.

Any personal information we collect from you will be used to promote the speech pathology profession and in relation to the objects of the Association, including the following purposes: To administer our relationship with third parties, such as our contractors and agents.
